Facial Hair Removal 101

Facial hair is, on some level, a problem for everyone. Admittedly, it creates a larger issue for some people than others. It is indisputable that you tweeze at least one hair regularly though. It is just a fact of life.

If you are like me, then plucking makes you crazy. I cannot even see the mirror through the tears in my eyes! But I am a bit intimidated by facial hair creams. The only result I got from them in high school was a huge blister on my upper lip. My girlstache would have been preferable to that…

Thank goodness hair removal creams have changed since high school They used to smell awful and be full of harsh chemicals. Now you practically get an aromatherapy session when you use one. Of course, you will still have to look out for some pitfalls.

Make sure that you get good facial hair removal results by using these tips:

1. Make sure that you do a test first. Before you put any cream on your face, try a little on your wrist. If you feel burning or develop a rash, then you will know not to continue. A small dab of the cream should be enough to test with.

2. Definitely look for herbal components. You just plain need chemicals to melt hair away. However, herbal extracts will help your skin recover from this attack. Using a facial hair removal product with heavy moisturizers and natural ingredients will help things progress more easily.

3. Pick something scented. You probably clearly remember the stench of that stinky cream that people used to remove leg hair. That smell was definitely chemically based. Now you can eliminate the odor or at least mask it with fragrance. People find that the scents alleviate allergic reactions to the chemical smells. Unless you can’t take artificial fragrances, opt for the scented stuff.

4. Do not do your entire face at once. Go light when you put the cream on your face. Always get started with the eyebrow area. It is noticeably less sensitive than the upper lip area. If you have no trouble with your brows, then you can start on your lip or chin area.
